Functional Parameters

View and change unit function settings in Advanced User mode

Functional Parameters let you adjust operating settings such as economy delays, airflow, defrost intervals, Start-Stop timing, overrides, and display preferences. You must be in Advanced User mode to access them.

Locked Parameters

Any Function displayed with an asterisk (*) has been locked using the TRU-Tech program and cannot be changed using the display-mounted keys.

Default Settings

In the parameter lists, selections shown in BOLD are the factory default settings.

Accessing Functional Parameters

Step 1: Open Functions Menu

With the unit powered up (START/RUN-OFF switch in START/RUN) or in PC mode, and in Advanced User mode, press the MENU key until the FUNCTIONS soft key is displayed.

Step 2: Select a Sub-Menu

Press the FUNCTIONS soft key to display the sub-menus. Press the ▼ key until the desired sub-menu is highlighted, then press the "=" key. The highlight will move to the current setting.

Step 3: Change the Setting

Press the ▲ or ▼ key to scroll through selections until the desired setting is highlighted. Press the "=" key to save the setting to memory.

Step 4: Set Additional Functions

Repeat Steps 2–3 to set additional Functional Parameters as required.

Economy Settings

0 to 255 minutes (one-minute increments). Sets the length of time the unit remains in low speed after starting, before transitioning to high speed, when in Start-Stop Operation.

0 to 255 minutes (one-minute increments). Sets the length of time the unit remains in low speed after starting, before transitioning to high speed, when in Continuous Operation.

Airflow Setting

• NORMAL — Allows the engine to cycle between High Speed and Low Speed based on compartment temperature. • HIGH — Keeps the engine in High Speed continuously. Used for heat-generating loads (e.g., produce) that require constant high airflow to maintain even temperature.

High Airflow Limit

HIGH AIR FLOW is not active with setpoints below the Temperature Settings threshold.

Defrost Timer

The defrost timer automatically initiates a defrost cycle at the selected interval if DTT is below 40°F (4.4°C) or SAT is below 45°F (7.2°C). Shorter intervals are generally used for warm, humid products like produce. Longer intervals can be used for dry and frozen products.

Timer Active Condition

The defrost timer is active only when DTT is below 40°F (4.4°C) and the unit is running.

FreshProtect Setting

• OFF — FreshProtect is turned off. • A through E — Each places an individual flexible limit on how far below setpoint the supply air temperature can drop when in Continuous Operation with a setpoint above 32°F (0°C). Refer to Section 4.10.1 for more information on FreshProtect.

Temperature Control Sensor

• RETURN AIR — The unit controls so that return air (air entering the evaporator) matches setpoint. Return air is generally considered a good sampling of actual product temperature. • SUPPLY AIR — The unit controls so that supply air (air leaving the evaporator) matches setpoint when the setpoint is in the perishable range (above 10.4°F / -12°C). In the frozen range, the unit controls return air instead. • CURB RETURN AIR — For units equipped with CURB RAT, the unit controls temperature based on return air at the CURB RAT location.

Out-of-Range Temperature

The value entered is the number of degrees away from setpoint the temperature may drift before it is considered "Out-Of-Range" and the configured alarm or alarm-and-shutdown action is activated. Can be set in Metric or English units. Refer to alarm 00053 (Box Temp Out-of-Range) for more information.

AutoFresh Air Exchange

• CLOSED — Assembly will be closed. • OPEN — Assembly will be open if the engine is running and the setpoint is greater than 28.0°F (-2.22°C). • CFM CONTROL — Assembly cycles open and closed over a 20-minute period. Active only if the engine is running and the setpoint is greater than 28.0°F (-2.22°C).

5 to 50 CFM (in 5 CFM increments). When CFM Control is selected, this sets the amount of air exchanged during each 20-minute cycle.

Start-Stop Settings

The system can be configured so that: • Together — The same settings apply to any setpoint (six settings; the sixth applies to frozen range only). • Separate — Different settings for perishable and frozen ranges (eleven settings: five perishable, six frozen).

Up to 60 minutes (one-minute increments). Determines the minimum time the unit must run for perishable/frozen setpoints in Start-Stop Operation.

10 to 90 minutes (one-minute increments). Determines the minimum time the unit stays off for perishable/frozen setpoints in Start-Stop Operation.

5 to 18°F (0.28 to 10°C) in 0.5° increments. After Minimum Off Time, if a compartment temperature drifts this far above or below setpoint (perishable) or above setpoint (frozen), the unit will restart.

3.6 to 18°F (2 to 10°C) in 0.5° increments. During Minimum Off Time, if compartment temperature drifts this far above or below setpoint (perishable) or above setpoint (frozen), the unit overrides Minimum Off Time and restarts.

10 to 255 minutes (one-minute increments), or OFF (no maximum). When a value is set, this is the longest the unit will remain off during a Start-Stop off cycle. When this time expires, the unit restarts for the Minimum Run Time regardless of compartment temperature.

0°F to 1.1°F (0°C to 0.6°C) in 0.1° increments. Applies to frozen setpoints only. This offset is the number of degrees below setpoint the unit will run before cycling off, allowing a lower average compartment temperature to compensate for temperature rise during off cycles.

Sleep Mode Parameters

Sleep Mode Setup

For complete instructions on entering and setting Sleep mode parameters, refer to Section 3.18.

Switch Overrides

If all switches are configured as "Switch Not Installed," this parameter will not display. • NO — The system responds to the switch as configured. • YES (NO RESET) — The configured shutdown or speed-change action is overridden to alarm only. Remains until manually changed back to NO. • YES (RESET) — Same as YES (NO RESET), but automatically reverts to NO on a power cycle.

If the fuel sensor is configured to NO, this parameter will not display. • NO — The system responds to the fuel sensor as configured. • YES (NO RESET) — Fuel level sensor shutdown is overridden until changed back to NO. • YES (RESET) — Fuel level sensor shutdown is overridden until a power cycle, then automatically reverts to NO.

Viewing Preferences

• Temperature — Fahrenheit (°F) or Celsius (°C). • Pressure — psig or bar. • Date Format — US (MM/DD/YYYY) or European (DD/MM/YYYY). • Alarm Description — YES displays alarm code and description in Driver mode; NO displays alarm code only. • Contrast — 0 to 63 (single-digit increments). Higher numbers increase display contrast.

Locked Preferences

For North American units, the Temperature and Pressure display preferences may be locked and cannot be changed from the keypad.
