DataTrak
Remote communication overview via the DataTrak option
DataTrak allows remote communication with the APX control system using cellular, satellite, or other connectivity.
• One-Way — The provider can request data from the system and transmit it via their equipment to another location, typically over the Internet. • Two-Way — The provider can also send commands to the control system to start or stop the unit, change settings, and change how the system operates the unit.
The unit may start automatically at any time even if the switch is in the OFF position. Use proper lockout/tagout procedures before inspection or servicing. All unit inspection and servicing must be performed by properly trained personnel only.
DataTrak is factory installed. You can confirm installation by scrolling through the Advanced User Unit Data screen (refer to Section 3.15). DataTrak will be listed under the Installed Options heading.
The control system must be configured for the specific communication provider (refer to Section 5.2.3): • Qualcomm (original TrailerTracs) — Select "Qualcomm" • Qualcomm (newer TrailerTracs T2) or another provider — Select "Other" • Lynx Fleet — Select "57600 Bps"
Carrier Transicold has worked with approved communication providers for recommended installation locations and wiring connections. Installation instructions are supplied by each individual provider. Communications electrical harnesses are available from Carrier Transicold Performance Parts Group (PPG).
