Data Recorder
Access and use the built-in DataLink data recorder
The APX Control System contains a built-in DataLink data recorder with 3 megabytes of memory. It records events as they occur (such as setpoint changes and defrost cycles) and records sensor data at selected intervals in snapshot or averaged format.
The following intervals are available for sensor recording: • 2 Minutes • 5 Minutes • 10 Minutes • 15 Minutes • 30 Minutes • 1 Hour • 2 Hours • 4 Hours
The recorder captures the following APX Control System information: • DataLink time clock date/time • Setpoint • DataLink settings (Logging Intervals, Events and Sensors) • Trailer (asset or car) ID • Unit Serial Number and Model Number • Controller (MSM) Serial Number and Software Revision • Pre-Trip Start/End • Functional Parameters and System Configurations • Current System Operating Mode
The DataLink data recorder records four categories of information: • APX Control System Information — system settings, IDs, and configurations • Sensor Data — recorded at selected intervals as snapshot or averaged readings • Event Occurrences — recorded as they happen (setpoint changes, defrost start/end, Pre-Trip start/end, unit mode, control mode, door/remote switch activations, hour meter readings) • User Area Data — comments entered via the TRU-Tech program
Hour meters are recorded at midnight or the first time of day the START/RUN-OFF switch is toggled from the OFF position. There will be no hour meter readings when the switch is in the OFF position.
Data within the DataLink data recorder can be downloaded using a Data Transfer USB memory device.
The recorder captures data the entire time the START/RUN-OFF switch is in the START/RUN position. A configuration allows an additional eight hours of sensor recording after the switch is placed in the OFF position. The unit is factory set to record the additional eight hours to capture temperatures during unloading, fueling, or other times the unit is off.
Accessing the Data Recorder
With the system powered up (START/RUN-OFF switch in START/RUN) or in PC mode, press the MENU key until DATA RECORDER is displayed.
Press the DATA RECORDER soft key to display the sub menus.
The Data Recorder screen displays with a 15-second timeout. Press the ▲ or ▼ key to scroll through the available sub menus. With the desired sub menu highlighted, press the "=" key to enter it.
Marking a Trip Start
Trip Start places the present time and date as a stamp in the data recorder memory. This allows easy review of data from the last trip and downloading data from a specific trip. A trip begins at one Trip Start and ends at the next Trip Start.
With MARK TRIP START highlighted, press the "=" key.
If acknowledged by the data recorder, "TRIP START ENTERED" will display for five seconds, then the display reverts to the normal screen.
If the data recorder is not functioning properly, "CANNOT ENTER TRIP START" will flash and the display will revert to the Data Recorder menu. Contact your service technician if this occurs.
