View Active Alarms

Check and clear active alarms on the APX control system

Step 1: Press the Alarm Key

With the system powered up (START/RUN-OFF switch in the START/RUN position) or in PC mode, press the ALARM key.

Step 2: View Active Alarms

If there are active alarms, the alarm number will be displayed preceded by the letter "A" (Active alarm). The last alarm that occurred is displayed first.

Alarm Descriptions

In Driver mode, alarm descriptions will only display when the ALARM DESCRIPTIONS Functional Parameter is set to YES. In Advanced User mode or Technician mode, the alarm description always displays following the alarm number.

Alarm Count and Position

Next to the ACTIVE ALARMS screen name in the status bar, the total number of alarms and the position of the highlighted alarm in the list are shown.

Step 3: Scroll Through Alarms

Press the UP (▲) or DOWN (▼) key to scroll through the list of alarms.

Step 4: Clear the Alarms

Press the CLEAR ALARMS soft key. The display will show an "ACTIVE ALARMS CLEARED" message to confirm the alarms have been cleared.

No Active Alarms

If there are no active alarms, the display will show a "NO ACTIVE ALARMS" message and return to the default display after five seconds.

Alternate Way to Clear Alarms

You can also clear active alarms by turning the APX Control System OFF and then back on using the START/RUN-OFF switch.

Stored Alarms

Alarms are stored in the Alarm List in the main microprocessor. Stored alarms may be viewed in the MessageCenter. For a complete list of alarms, descriptions, and troubleshooting recommendations, refer to Section 7.3.
