Functional Parameters

Configure unit functions in the Advanced User menu

Functional Parameters let you configure economy settings, temperature control, start-stop timing, defrost intervals, viewing preferences and more. You must be in Advanced User mode to access these settings.

Locked Parameters

Any function displayed with an asterisk (*) has been locked using the TRU-Tech program and cannot be changed using the display mounted keys.

Accessing Functional Parameters

Step 1: Open Functions Menu

With the system powered up (START/RUN-OFF switch in START/RUN) or in PC mode, and in Advanced User mode, press the MENU key until FUNCTIONS is displayed.

Step 2: Select a Sub-Menu

Press the FUNCTIONS soft key to display the sub-menus. Press the ▼ key until the desired sub-menu is highlighted, then press the "=" key to enter it. The highlight will move to the present setting.

Step 3: Change the Setting

Press the ▲ or ▼ key to scroll through selections until the desired setting is highlighted. Press the "=" key to save the setting to memory.

Step 4: Set Additional Functions

Continue as above to set additional functions as required. Parameters will vary based on selected configuration settings.

Economy Settings

• NO (default) — In Continuous Operation, control for maximum temperature protection. • YES — In Continuous Operation, control for maximum fuel economy. • ECO — Uses very low speed instead of low speed in Continuous Run in the temperature control band.

Low Speed Timers

In 1-minute increments, select the length of time the unit remains in low speed after starting before transitioning to high speed in Start-Stop Operation.

Temperature Settings

The defrost timer automatically puts the unit into a defrost cycle at the selected interval if DTT is below 40°F (4.4°C) or SAT is below 45°F (7.2°C). Shorter times are generally used for warm, humid products like produce. Longer times can be used for dry and frozen products.

Defrost Timer Counting

The timer only increments time toward the next defrost when the DTT is below 40°F and the unit is running.

• RETURN AIR (default) — Unit controls return air (entering the evaporator) to setpoint. Return air is generally considered a good sampling of actual product temperature. • SUPPLY AIR — Unit controls supply air (leaving the evaporator) to setpoint when setpoint is in the perishable range (greater than 10.4°F / -12°C). In the frozen range, the unit controls return air. • RETURN AIR 2 — For units equipped with RAT2, the unit controls temperature based on return air at the RAT2 location.

The value entered is the number of degrees away from setpoint the temperature may drift before it is considered "Out-Of-Range" and the configured alarm or alarm-and-shutdown action is activated. Refer to alarm 00053 Box Temperature Out-of-Range for more information.

Auto Fresh Air Exchange

• Closed — Assembly will be closed. • Open — Assembly will be open if the engine is running and setpoint is greater than 28.0°F (-2.22°C). • CFM Control — Assembly cycles open and closed over a 20-minute period based on the Auto Fresh Air Control parameter. Only active if the engine is running and setpoint is greater than 28.0°F.

When CFM Control is selected, set the amount of air to be exchanged during each 20-minute cycle. Range is 5 to 50 CFM in 5 CFM increments.

Fresh Protect Settings

Range: -21.6° to -3.6° (Factory Default = -7.0). Supply air will be limited to the selected degrees below the current setpoint in Continuous Operation.

Range: -21.6° to -3.6° (Factory Default = OFF). Supply air will be limited to the selected degrees below the current setpoint in Start-Stop Operation.

Start-Stop Settings

The system may be configured so that: • Together — The same settings apply to any setpoint (six settings; the sixth applies to frozen range only). • Separate — Settings differ depending on whether the setpoint is perishable or frozen (eleven settings total).

• MIN RUN TIME — In 1-minute increments, the minimum run time for perishable/frozen setpoints. • MIN OFF TIME — 10 to 90 minutes (in 1-minute increments), the minimum off time for perishable/frozen setpoints. • RESTART TEMP — 0.5 to 18°F (0.28 to 10°C) in 0.5° increments. After Minimum Off Time, if compartment temperature drifts this far from setpoint, the unit restarts. • OVERRIDE TEMP — 3.6 to 18°F (2 to 10°C) in 0.5° increments. During Minimum Off Time, if temperature drifts this far from setpoint, the unit overrides Minimum Off Time and restarts. • MAX OFF TIME — In 1-minute increments (or OFF for no maximum). The longest time the unit remains off during an off cycle. When expired, the unit restarts for the Minimum Run Time. • OFFSET — 0°F to 1.1°F (0°C to 0.6°C) in 0.1° increments. Frozen setpoints only. Degrees below setpoint the unit runs before cycling off, allowing a lower average compartment temperature.

Sleep Mode

Set a time when Sleep mode will wake up, ranging from 1 hour to eight days from the current time. Refer to the Sleep Mode page for complete instructions.

Overrides

If all switches are configured as "Switch Not Installed," this parameter will not display. • NO — The system responds to the switch as configured. • YES — The configured action on switch activation is overridden to alarm only. Use this to temporarily override shutdown or speed change when not desired.

No A/C Power Override

When set to "Shut Unit Down," this function will override the No A/C Power configuration parameter.

Viewing Preferences

• Temperature — Fahrenheit (°F) or Celsius (°C). • Pressure — psig or bar. • Date Format — US (MM/DD/YYYY) or European (DD/MM/YYYY). • Alarm Display — YES shows alarm code and description in Driver Mode; NO shows alarm code only. • Contrast — 0 to 63 in single-digit increments. Higher numbers increase display contrast.

Regional Lock

For North American units, the temperature and pressure display functions may be locked.
