DataTrak Remote Communication

Overview of the DataTrak remote communication option

DataTrak allows remote communication with the APX control system via cellular, satellite, or other providers. Data can be requested from the unit and transmitted via the Internet to any destination in the world.

• One Way — The provider can request and receive data from the unit remotely. • Two Way — The provider can also send commands to the control system to start or stop the unit, change settings, and change how the system operates the unit.

Unit May Start Automatically!

The unit may start automatically at any time even if the switch is in the OFF position. Use proper lockout/tagout procedures before inspection or servicing. All unit inspection and servicing must be performed by properly trained personnel only.

DataTrak is factory installed. To confirm installation, scroll through the Advanced User Unit Data screens (refer to Section 3.15). DataTrak will be listed under the Installed Options heading.

The control system must be configured for the specific communication provider (refer to Section 5.2.3). The Satellite Com Configuration can be set to one of two options: • Qualcomm — Select if the provider is Qualcomm and the original Qualcomm TrailerTracs system is being used. • Other — Select if the provider is Qualcomm with the newer TrailerTracs T2 system, or if another communications provider is used.
