Functional Parameters
View and change functional parameter settings
Functional Parameters let you adjust how the unit controls temperature, defrost timing, Start-Stop cycles, display options and more. You must be in Advanced User mode to access these settings.
With the system powered up (START/RUN-OFF switch in START/RUN) and in Advanced User mode, press the MENU key until FUNCTIONS is displayed.
Press the FUNCTIONS soft key to display the sub-menus. Press the DOWN ARROW (▼) key until the desired sub-menu is highlighted, then press the "=" key to enter it. The highlight will move to the present setting.
Press the ▲ or ▼ key to scroll through selections until the desired setting is highlighted. Press the "=" key to save the setting to memory.
Continue as above to set additional Functions as required.
Selections shown in BOLD are the default settings. Any Function displayed with an asterisk (*) has been locked using the TRU-Tech program and cannot be changed using the display keys.
Continuous Operation Economy
• NO — When in Continuous Operation, control for maximum temperature protection. • YES — When in Continuous Operation, control for maximum fuel economy.
Low Speed Delay
• LOW SPEED DELAY S/S — Select the time (in 1-minute increments) the unit remains in low speed after starting before transitioning to high speed in Start-Stop Operation. • CONT — Select the time (in 1-minute increments) the unit remains in low speed after starting before transitioning to high speed in Continuous Operation.
Defrost Timer
The defrost timer automatically puts the unit into a defrost cycle at the selected interval if DTT is below 40°F (4.4°C) or SAT is below 45°F (7.2°C). Shorter times are generally used for warm, humid products like produce. Longer times can be used for dry and frozen products.
The timer only increments time toward the next defrost when the DTT is below 40°F and the unit is running.
Air Control Mode
• RETURN AIR — The unit controls return air (air entering the evaporator) to setpoint. Return air is generally considered a good sampling of actual product temperature. • SUPPLY AIR — The unit controls supply air (air leaving the evaporator) to setpoint when the setpoint is in the perishable range (greater than 10.4°F / -12°C). In the frozen range, the unit controls return air instead. • RETURN AIR 2 — For units equipped with RAT2, the unit controls temperature based on return air at the RAT2 location.
Temperature Units and Display
• Metric / English — Temperatures display in °F or °C. • Pressure — Displays in psig or bar. • Date Format — US (MM/DD/YYYY) or European (DD/MM/YYYY). • Display Contrast — 0 to 63 in single-digit increments; higher numbers increase contrast. • Screen Layout — Compartment information displays in Split Screen or Auto-Scroll. Refer to Section 3.1.
For North American units, the temperature and pressure unit selections may be locked.
Out-of-Range Temperature
The value entered is the number of degrees away from setpoint the temperature may drift before it is considered "Out-Of-Range" and the configured alarm or alarm-and-shutdown action activates. Refer to alarm 00053 BOX TEMP OUT-OF-RANGE or 00063 C3 BOX TEMP OUT-OF-RANGE for more information.
Supply Air Limit
• OFF — Supply air temperature is limited to the colder of 32°F (0°C) or setpoint less the configured value. • ON — Supply air temperature is limited to setpoint less the Supply Air Limit Configuration value. Refer to Section 4.9 for Perishable Sensitive Product and Supply Air Configuration interaction.
Start-Stop Parameters
Start-Stop time and temperature values can be configured so: • Together — The same settings apply to any setpoint (six settings; only the sixth applies to frozen range only). • Separate — Different settings for perishable and frozen ranges (eleven settings: five perishable, six frozen).
• MIN RUN TIME — Minimum run time for perishable/frozen setpoints (in 1-minute increments). • MIN OFF TIME — 10 to 90 minutes (in 1-minute increments). Minimum off time for perishable/frozen setpoints. • RESTART TEMP — 0.5 to 18°F (0.28 to 10°C) in 0.5° increments. After Minimum Off Time, if compartment temperature drifts this far above or below setpoint (perishable) or above setpoint (frozen), the unit restarts. • OVERRIDE TEMP — 3.6 to 18°F (2 to 10°C) in 0.5° increments. During Minimum Off Time, if temperature drifts this far from setpoint, the unit overrides Minimum Off Time and restarts. • MAX OFF TIME — In 1-minute increments, or OFF for no maximum. The longest time the unit remains off during an Auto Start/Stop Off Cycle. When it expires, the unit restarts for the Minimum Run Time regardless of compartment temperature.
OFFSET: 0°F to 1.1°F (0°C to 0.6°C) in 0.1° increments. Applies only to frozen setpoints in Start-Stop Operation. This is the number of degrees below setpoint the unit will run before cycling off, allowing a lower average compartment temperature to account for temperature rise during off cycles.
Additional Parameters
The unit will switch to diesel when no AC voltage is detected for 5 minutes, if configured to do so. This setting can override the No A/C Power Configuration parameter; when set to No, the system will shut down instead.
If all switches are configured as "Switch Not Installed," this parameter will not display. • NO — The system responds to the switch as configured. • YES — The configured shutdown or speed-change action is overridden; the action becomes alarm only. Use this to temporarily override the Configuration setting when shutdown or speed change is not desired.
• YES — In Driver mode, the alarm code and alarm description are displayed. • NO — In Driver mode, only the alarm code is displayed.
Set a time when Sleep mode will wake up, ranging from 1 hour to 8 days from the current time. For complete instructions, refer to Section 3.19.
