Data Recorder

Use the built-in DataLink data recorder features

The APX Control System contains a built-in DataLink data recorder with 3 megabytes of memory. It records events as they occur (setpoint changes, defrost cycles, etc.) and logs sensor data at selected intervals in snapshot or averaged format.

The following intervals are available for sensor recording: • 1 Minute • 2 Minutes • 5 Minutes • 10 Minutes • 15 Minutes • 30 Minutes • 1 Hour • 2 Hours • 4 Hours

The data recorder captures: • Date/time, setpoint, and trailer ID • Unit serial number, model number, and software revision • Pretrip start/end • Functional Parameters and Control System Configurations • Current system operating mode • DataLink recorder settings (logging intervals, events, sensors)

Recorded data falls into four categories: • APX Control System Information — system settings and identifiers • Sensor Data — recorded at preset intervals as snapshot or averaged readings • Event Occurrences — recorded when they happen (setpoint changes, defrost cycles, door/remote switch activations, hour meters, etc.) • User Area Data — comments entered via the TRU-Tech program

Hour Meter Recording

Hour meters are recorded at midnight or the first time the START/RUN-OFF switch is toggled from the OFF position each day. There will be no hour meter readings while the switch is in the OFF position.

Data can be downloaded using the TRU-Tech/TRU-View program with a PC-USB service cable connected to the USB interface port, or with a Data Transfer USB memory device.

Recording After Shutdown

A configuration setting allows an additional 8 hours of sensor data to be recorded after the switch is placed in the OFF position. The factory default is to record the additional 8 hours so temperatures are captured during unloading, fueling, or other times the unit may be off.

Accessing the Data Recorder

Step 1: Open Data Recorder Menu

With the system powered up (START/RUN-OFF switch in START/RUN) or in PC mode, press the MENU key until DATA RECORDER is displayed.

Step 2: Enter Data Recorder

Press the DATA RECORDER soft key to display the sub menus.

Step 3: Select a Sub Menu

Press the ▲ or ▼ key to scroll through the available sub menus. With the desired sub menu highlighted, press the "=" key to enter it. The screen has a 15-second timeout.

Mark Trip Start

Step 1: Select Mark Trip Start

With MARK TRIP START highlighted, press the "=" key.

Step 2: Confirm Trip Start

If acknowledged, "TRIP START ENTERED" displays for five seconds and the display reverts to normal. If the recorder is not functioning properly, "CANNOT ENTER TRIP START" will flash.

Trip Start Purpose

Trip Start places the current time and date as a stamp in memory, allowing easy review of data from the last trip and downloading data from a specific trip. A trip begins at one Trip Start and ends at the next.

Print to Screen

Step 1: Select Print to Screen

With PRINT TO SCREEN highlighted, press the "=" key. If configured, the system will prompt for entry of the data protect PIN code.

Step 2: Browse Recorded Data

A graphical display of recorded data appears. Press the ▲ or ▼ keys to move through the data day by day. The left axis represents 00:00 (midnight) with 24 lines for each hour.

Step 3: Toggle Event Codes

Press the "=" key to toggle event codes on or off.

When event codes are ON, the following acronyms display: • c — Door Close • o — Door Open • d — Defrost start • e — Defrost end • p — Power up • f — Power down • r — Real time clock range • t — Trip Start
