PM Fuse 11

electrical

Description

Power enable relay is sensed shorted open, and the unit shuts down and alarms.

Activation Conditions

Power enable relay is sensed as shorted open

Unit Behavior

Unit shutdown and alarm

Reset Conditions

When condition no longer exists for more than two seconds.

Corrective Actions

1. Check PER relay coil - Check resistance between terminal 85 and 86. Resistance should be between 80 and 100 ohms. 2. Inspect PM terminals - Ensure terminals fit tight to the relay. 05034 Power Enable Relay Contacts • ACTIVATION: Power enable relay is ordered ON and voltage is not detected • UNIT CONTROL: Unit shutdown and alarm • RESET CONDITION: When condition no longer exists for more than two seconds. NOTE Follow the steps below until a problem is found. Once a repair or correction has been made, the active alarm should clear itself (see reset condition above). Operate the unit through the appropriate modes to see if any active alarm occurs. Continue with the steps below as necessary. Check PER Contacts 3. Check resistance between terminal 30 and 87a. Resistance should be 0 ohms (N/C). 4. Check resistance between terminal 87 and 87a. Resistance should be infinite (N/O). 5. Energize the relay and check again. Contacts should change positions, the N/O contacts should now read 0 ohms and the N/C should now read infinite ohms. 6. Inspect PM terminals – Ensure terminals fit tight to the relay. 05035 EVXV Fault • ACTIVATION: EVXV has detected an over current condition five times at least one minute apart in the last 12 minutes • UNIT CONTROL: Alarm only • RESET CONDITION: 12 minutes has passed without a fault being detected. NOTE Follow the steps below until a problem is found. Once a repair or correction has been made, the active alarm should clear itself (see reset condition above). Operate the unit through the appropriate modes to see if any active alarm occurs. Continue with the steps below as necessary. 7. Check pin condition and connection a. Check pin connections at MSM. b. Check pin connections at EVXV power head and harness. 8. Check power head a. Check power head for any physical damage. b. Check resistance from power head wiring to ground. 9. Check wiring harness: a. Check condition of wiring harness check for any rub spots. b. Check harness wiring for any shorts to ground. 05036 ECXV Fault • ACTIVATION: ECXV has detected an over current condition five times at least one minute apart in the last 12 minutes • UNIT CONTROL: Alarm only • RESET CONDITION: 12 minutes has passed without a fault being detected. NOTE Follow the steps below until a problem is found. Once a repair or correction has been made, the active alarm should clear itself (see reset condition above). Operate the unit through the appropriate modes to see if any active alarm occurs. Continue with the steps below as necessary. 10. Check pin condition and connection a. Check pin connections at MSM. b. Check pin connections at ECXV power head and harness. 11. Check power head a. Check power head for any physical damage. b. Check resistance from power head wiring to ground. 12. Check wiring harness: a. Check condition of wiring harness check for any rub spots. b. Check harness wiring for any shorts to ground. 05037 SMV Fault • ACTIVATION: SMV has detected an over current condition five times at least one minute apart in the last 12 minutes • UNIT CONTROL: Alarm only • RESET CONDITION: 12 minutes has passed without a fault being detected. NOTE Follow the steps below until a problem is found. Once a repair or correction has been made, the active alarm should clear itself (see reset condition above). Operate the unit through the appropriate modes to see if any active alarm occurs. Continue with the steps below as necessary. 13. Check pin condition and connection a. Check pin connections at MSM. b. Check pin connections at SMV power head and harness. 14. Check power head a. Check power head for any physical damage. b. Check resistance from power head wiring to ground. 15. Check wiring harness: a. Check condition of wiring harness check for any rub spots. b. Check harness wiring for any shorts to ground. 05042 Aux Battery Voltage High • ACTIVATION: Battery voltage at the aux battery is sensed greater than 17 VDC • UNIT CONTROL: Alarm only • RESET CONDITION: Battery voltage is sensed between 11 and 14 VDC for 15 minutes. NOTE Follow the steps below until a problem is found. Once a repair or correction has been made, the active alarm should clear itself (see reset condition above). Operate the unit through the appropriate modes to see if any active alarm occurs. Continue with the steps below as necessary. 16. Check battery voltage a. Test voltage at battery with unit off. Must be between 11 - 16 VDC. b. Test voltage at battery with unit running. Must be between 12 - 16 VDC above unit OFF reading (battery charger charging). NOTE Voltage with unit running should always be higher than voltage with unit off due to battery charging 17. Check battery charger voltage a. Test voltage at BTYC2+ with unit off. Must be between 11 - 16 VDC. b. Test voltage at BTYC2+ with unit running. Must be between 12 - 16 VDC. 05043 Aux Battery Voltage Low • ACTIVATION: Battery voltage at the aux battery is sensed less than 10 VDC • UNIT CONTROL: Alarm only • RESET CONDITION: Battery voltage is sensed between 11 and 14 VDC for 15 minutes.
