Engine Stalled
engine
Description
Diesel Engine mode only: the engine is running with no alternator feedback and the oil pressure switch open, and the unit shuts down immediately as engine OFF.
Activation Conditions
Not for Shore Power mode If the system is in Diesel Engine mode AND if the engine is running and the alternator feedback signal is not present and oil pressure switch is open NOTE Alarm will not activate is 00013 High Pressure Discharge alarm is pending or active.
Unit Behavior
If the system is in Diesel Engine mode, REQUIRED SHUTDOWN โ engine is considered OFF immediately If the system is in Shore Power mode and the alarm is active, Alarm Condition Only
Reset Conditions
Alarm Minimum off time OR Alarm Reset OR Cycle Power
Corrective Actions
1. Check for Additional Alarms: 05002 Alternator Enable, 05003 Solenoid Pull, 05004 Solenoid Hold, 05100 AC Check, 00011 Oil Pressure, 20000 Display CAN Fail, 20001 CCU CAN Fail, 20006 APU IO CAN Fail, 20009 APU IO Lost Configuration 2. Check Fuses - Check F1 and F2 fuses. Verify correct fuse and check fuse holder for damage. Replace fuse as required. Clear alarms, restart and check for repeat alarm(s). 3. Check Aspen Interface and Circuit a. Verify operation of Aspen Interface b. Inspect DM connector at the Aspen Interface. Verify pin connections and connector is locked/secure. c. Check for voltage between DM-1 and DM-8 d. Check CAN circuit 4. Check Fuel System a. Check for fuel level. Fill tank as needed. b. Check fuel flow. Unrestricted fuel flow through system. Fuel filter clean. Fuel not gelled. c. Check fuel system prime. No air in fuel system. 5. Check APU Module and Fuel Solenoid (FS) a. Inspect fuel solenoid (FS) and APU Module connector pins and terminals. Verify there is no physical damage to components, and no damage or corrosion in connectors. b. Check resistance and amp draw of FS. Refer to Section 2.11 for specifications. c. Check FS plunger. Must move in and out freely. Refer to engine manual 6. Check Engine Air-Intake System a. Check air cleaner indicator (if equipped). Flag must not be visible. b. Inspect air intake system. Verify hoses and tubes in good condition, with no kinks or restrictions. 7. Check Engine Exhaust System - Inspect the exhaust system. Must be clear and unobstructed. 8. Check Generator and Alternator a. Verify that generator and alternator spin freely and there are no abnormal noises b. Check for generator and alternator load when engine is running 9. Check Engine a. Check Injection pump timing. Timing must be correct. b. Check engine valve adjustment. Rocker arm clearance must be correct. c. Check engine compression. Compression must be above 400 psig (27.2 bar). 10. Check Refrigeration System - Check discharge and suction pressures. Must be within normal Operating range for conditions.
