High Coolant Temperature

Description

Engine coolant temperature has exceeded safe limits.

Activation Conditions

Coolant temperature >230°F (or >241°F in high ambient conditions).

Unit Behavior

Engine shutdown.

Reset Conditions

Auto reset after 15 minutes if coolant temperature drops below 212°F.

Corrective Actions

1. Check the coolant level in the overflow bottle. 2. Check the coolant freeze point (should be -34°F or lower). 3. Check airflow through the radiator and condenser — remove any debris or blockage. 4. Check the water pump belt for wear, glazing, or slipping. 5. Check the coolant temperature sensor and wiring.
