AC Block Heater
system
Description
The block heater VAC reading does not match the ordered block heater state; the unit alarms only, or shuts down if ordered OFF with VAC present.
Activation Conditions
VAC reading from block heater does not match ordered block heater state. A05100 or A5101 not active or pending.
Unit Behavior
If Block Heater is ordered ON but VAC is not present, Alarm Only If Block Heater is ordered OFF but VAC is present, REQUIRED SHUT- DOWN
Reset Conditions
VAC reading from block heater matches ordered state
Corrective Actions
1. Check block heater status in the System Values menu in CabinTech. a. If the block heater shows OFF check for voltage between J13-1 and J13-2. If voltage is present, go to step 2. If voltage is not present, go to step 3. b. If the outlet shows ON go to step 3 2. Disconnect J13 connector (block heater) a. If alarm 5108 is no longer active with block heater harness disconnected, there is problem with the block heater or harness. Check for short to power in block heater or harness. b. If alarm 5108 is still active with block heater harness disconnected, go to step 3. 3. Replace the CCM board - Refer to section 8.34 for CCM board replacement instructions
