Description
Fuel pump current is outside 0.9 to 2.0 Amps (12 VDC); Pretrip fails and shows “PRETRIP FAIL AND COMPLETED”.
Activation Conditions
Normal draw for the fuel pump is 0.9 to 2.0 Amps (12 VDC). The circuit tests outside this range.
Unit Behavior
Engine and Electric Operation: Pretrip will fail and display “PRETRIP FAIL AND COMPLETED”.
Reset Conditions
Auto Reset if Pretrip is started again, or alarm may be manually reset via keypad or by turning the unit off, then back on again.
Corrective Actions
1. Check Fuel Pump a. Inspect fuel pump connections.Verify there is no damage to coil, and no damage, moisture, or corrosion in connections. b. Check contactor coil resistance. Refer to Section 2.11. 2. Check Fuel Pump Amp Draw - Check fuel pump draw. Use Component Test mode (Section 5.2.4) to test. Refer to Section 2.11 for amp values. View current draw in Component Test mode screen. 3. Check Fuel Pump Wiring - Inspect harness and control box connector pins and terminals PM-9 to FP- A1 and FP-A2 to ground. (See wiring schematic Section 10.2) Verify there is no physical damage to harness, and no damage, moisture, or corrosion in connectors.
