Starter Output Fault

Description

The starter draws excessive current when it should be off for more than 10 seconds, and the unit shuts down and alarms.

Activation Conditions

The starter is drawing excessive current when it should be off for > 10 seconds.

Unit Behavior

Shutdown and Alarm.

Reset Conditions

Automatic reset for first occurrence after 15 minutes. Alarm may be manually reset using the display mounted keys or by turning the unit off, then back on again. On the second occurrence within one hour, alarm 00021 (Technician Reset) will be activated.

Corrective Actions

1. Check starter solenoid for shorted circuits. 2. Check wiring to starter solenoid. 3. Check starter relay/FET for improper operation.
